What TinyOhms is

TinyOhms is an electronics learning resource: project guides on this website and a virtual breadboard in the iOS app. It teaches with real parts and real numbers. It is educational content, not professional engineering advice.

Build safely

Every TinyOhms project runs from small batteries, never from the mains. Keep it that way. Follow the safety notes on each project: mind battery polarity, don't short a battery, and know that some parts get warm. If you are younger or new to this, build with an adult nearby. You are responsible for how you build and what you build with. To the fullest extent the law allows, TinyOhms is not liable for injury, damaged parts or damaged devices resulting from a build.

Accuracy

We check every circuit with calculation and simulation, cite our sources, and mark the projects a person has physically built. Even so, the content is provided "as is", without warranty. Real parts vary, and mistakes are possible. If you find one, tell us and we will fix it.

TinyOhms Pro

• What it is. An optional auto-renewing subscription in the iOS app that unlocks the advanced parts (potentiometer, capacitor, diode, motor, thermistor, piezo speaker and the 555 timer). Everything needed for the beginner projects stays free.
• Price and billing. US$2.99 per month, or the equivalent shown in your region's App Store before you confirm. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you subscribe.
• Renewal and cancellation. The subscription renews automatically each month unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Cancel any time in Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions on your device. Cancelling stops future charges; you keep Pro until the paid period ends.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under App Store rules.
• Under 18? Ask a parent or guardian before subscribing. Apple's Ask to Buy and Family Sharing settings apply.

Your account

Signing in is optional and uses only your email address and a code we send you. It exists so the circuits you save can follow you between the app and the website. Keep the code to yourself; anyone with it can open your library. You can delete your account, and everything in it, from inside the app at any time. We may remove circuits that are abusive or that break the rules below.

What you can do with what you make

The circuits you build, the boards you save and the files you export are yours. Build, share, remix and teach with them freely. Circuit topologies and physics belong to everyone.

The text, diagrams, images and code of the website and app are © TinyOhms. You may read, link to and quote them for personal, classroom and non-commercial use with credit. Please don't republish whole pages or resell the content.

Fair use of the service

Don't try to break the website or app, scrape it at scale, or use it for anything illegal. We may change or discontinue features, and we may update these terms; the date at the top tells you when. If you keep using TinyOhms after a change, you accept the new terms.

Privacy

How we handle data is in the Privacy Policy. The short version: we collect almost nothing.
